the north london playroom project: creating systems for tidy play

This his project focused on the ultimate challenge for any family: managing the volume of toys, games, and creative supplies in a children’s playroom in North London. The goal was to transform a space overwhelmed by clutter into a calm, functional environment that empowers children to find, use, and put away their belongings independently.

My Approach:

  • Decluttering & Editing: We strategically sorted and curated the vast collection, making thoughtful decisions about what to keep, donate, or re-home.

  • Bespoke Storage Solutions: We introduced intelligent, labeled storage to contain specialized items—especially small parts and loose components—ensuring nothing gets lost.

  • Kid-Friendly Organization: Shelving was optimized using easy-access containers and high-contrast labeling, allowing the children to seamlessly participate in tidying up and maintaining the space on their own.

The final result is a beautifully organized, visually calmer playroom that supports effortless play and smooth, stress-free cleanup.

"The toy clutter in our Victorian terrace had become unmanageable. Taiz didn't just 'tidy up'; she implemented a brilliant, colour-coded system that our children actually enjoy using. For the first time, 'tidy-up time' doesn't involve tears. A truly professional service that understands the realities of family life in North London." — Victoria S., Highgate
